Jobs in the app
Visavi collects UK roles from employer career sites (Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, SmartRecruiters and Workday), NHS Jobs, Reed, Adzuna, Arbeitnow, visajobs.uk and sponsorship job directories. Every employer is checked against the Home Office register of licensed sponsors, which is updated most working days. Every job is from a licensed sponsor, or the advert itself says they sponsor. If an advert says it will not sponsor, we leave it out.
The register of licensed sponsors
The Home Office publishes the register of worker and temporary worker licensed sponsors on gov.uk. This website uses the copy published on 5 October 2026: 143,159 rows, one per organisation and licence route.
- Employers. An organisation is counted once per name, ignoring capital letters and spaces at either end. That gives 127,336 organisations, of which 121,996 hold a Skilled Worker licence.
- Towns and cities. We group the register's Town/City column after ignoring capitals, punctuation and spacing (so "London," and "LONDON" count as London), then count the Skilled Worker licence rows in each (one row per organisation and town, so an employer that lists two towns counts in each). Spellings of the same place, such as Derry and Londonderry or Staines and Staines-upon-Thames, count as one town, and where a town name is shared by several places, such as Kingston or Newcastle, a row moves to the right place only when its County column names it. Town pages exist where that count is 25 or more. Values that name a county or a country rather than a town are left out.
- Nearby towns. Distances use town coordinates from GeoNames (CC BY 4.0). Town names shared by more than one place, such as Newport, get no distance-based figures.
- Name-based counts. Figures such as "employers with care in their name" count registered names that contain those words. They describe names, not what each employer does.
- Example employers. Town pages list some employers that also hold a Global Business Mobility licence, which is used to bring an overseas employer's staff to work in the UK. They are examples from the register, not endorsements, and not a sign that any of them is hiring.
Going rates and salary thresholds
Going rates come from the Home Office Immigration Rules Appendix Skilled Occupations, as last updated on gov.uk on 11 November 2025. Role pages show the going rate and the new-entrant rate for each occupation code. Health and education roles on national pay scales show the pay scale the Home Office names.
The general salary threshold of £41,700 and the new-entrant minimum of £33,400 come from the Skilled Worker guidance on gov.uk. Rules change: always check gov.uk before you rely on a figure.

Public bodies, partnerships without industry codes and new sponsors are not classified. No addresses, officers or company numbers are published.
